Hello everyone! I hope that you all are having a great February! This month hasn't been so bad. I've had the usual lows but I am making the most of time being positive.

Achieving the yearly goals has been okay. I made so much sketches last month that I ran out of paper and I need to get a new sketchbook. I was only successful on  get one for large drawings but not for pocket sketches. I will get one eventually.

I am still looking for a new job, however finding what I want isn't easy. But I feel motivated to keep looking anyway.

Voice training hasn't gone down well but I am trying to making the time to keep practising. I am very excited for the event that will be in march. I think that it is going to be cool.

Also I found out the results for the Manga Jiman competition that was held last year. Sadly I wasn't part of the short list. However I have posted the competion entry on Smackjeeves. Here's the link: slvp.smackjeeves.com/

I hope that you'll all enjoy the last couple of days of February. Make the most of it and I'll see you next month,

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope that you've all had a brilliant 2015. My year was filled with a lot of ups and downs nevertheless I felt that it was necessary to continue to make great art. My creativity spiralled and I found myself creating so much. I'm greatful for this.

I have made a few new years resolutions. Here are mine:

*Produce six days of sketches and at the end of the week make a drawing.

*Find a new Job by April.

*Improve on voice for church choir by March and keep at it from then onwards.

*Improve on speaking Japanese and writing in Japanese.

There are a few other things that I would like to do too. But these are main ones that I would like to accomplish.

Hello Everyone! I hope that you've had a great July. The last couple of days of july was really good. It began with as siting in an Comic workshop which will take place every last month on a Thursday. The first class was really good and I really really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the next one which is the end of this month. :D

Another interesting thing that happened was that I went to a mini secondary school reunion. There were a few of us but I really enjoyed it. One of my friends planned the event a couple of months before. She came not only for the event itself but also to catch-up with family. We all met at a park called Victoria and we talked about what we done since we finished school back in 2004. Our conversation continue when we went to an Italian restaurant which was really great too. ;)

Another brilliant thing that happened was that two days ago I began a 31 day drawing challenge. It was created by an art website called craftsy. So far I have made three drawings. All of these drawings will be posted on the website but it will also be posted on DeviantArt and Tumblr. There will be a folder on here were you will be able to see each drawing on here.

Have a wonderful month and make the most of it. :)

Hi everyone! Apologies for the long hiatus of journals. I thought that it would be great to begin the momentum by posting one at least once or twice a month.

The was a lot of things that happened to me this month. One of them being was that I lost my voice a couple of weeks ago. I found this quite tragic as it took place on a sunday afternoon, after a performing with the church choir. But the good thing was that it was a success. My family were very worried, particularly my older brother. He kept assuring me that my voice would return. My twin who came round to visit and my younger brother assumed that I was shouting. But I know from this that the road to recovery would time.

I had to cancel work for the week. The only thing that I drank was warm water, Honey, Lemon, and Ginger water and Lozenges. I took a lot of rest too plus I kept drawing too.  My voice began to return somewhere on Friday and that was when I helped out one of my friends at Hyper Japan. I was incredibly excited as I always been to this event and enjoyed it. I bought a ticket for the next day and loved it even more.

By Sunday which was last week, my voice fully recovered. I was very pleased. There was another event that I went to as well. This was the Hackney Flea Market. I went to support my another friend who recently came back from Germany to promote his work. I was estatic to see him. Another great thing that happened that day was that I met Elizabeth Questret of querstret.co.uk.

It was really amazing to meet her as I bought some of her stuff from a comic shop called Gosh!. Alongside her, I met more great artists.

From seeing all these talented artists inspired me to keep drawing. I will also go back to my Japanese studying as I was on a bit on a hiatus for about a month. Plus I've now have a twitter account! You can follow me by this twitter name @CherishYork, I also have an instagram too which is cherish.york and new blog which is cherish-york.tumblr.com.

There are a lot more exciting things that will be happening this week too. I'm very excited about it and I shall be telling you all. Enjoy the rest of the month and make the most of it too.
